  2. UCSD Extension and Downtown San Diego Partnership Launch Collaboratory for Downtown Innovation

    University of California San Diego Extension and the Downtown San Diego Partnership have announced the Collaboratory for Downtown Innovation initiative to support and strengthen Downtown’s growing tech ecosystem. The CDI will offer connections, support and workforce training to assist tech entrepreneurs in the urban core. The partnership will offer a wide range of entrepreneurship support and incubation activities including skills development workshops and pre-accelerator programs. CDI will provide a variety of programs to help entrepreneurs develop the networks critical for future growth as well as provide business support and workforce training.

    The Regional Task Force on the Homeless (RTFH) is calling on San Diegans to volunteer at the 2016 WeAllCount homeless census happening on Friday, Jan. 29, 2016. Results from the county-wide survey secure critical funding regional government agencies and service providers depend on to provide the region's most vulnerable population with shelter and care.

    The Downtown San Diego Partnership announced the winners of the 53rd Annual Alonzo Awards, which recognize people, places, and projects fueling Downtown's ongoing revitalization.     On Startup Day Across America, the Downtown San Diego Partnership and Congressman Scott Peters hosted a town hall discussion with entrepreneurs, investors, and startup pioneers to boost the growing tech startup ecosystem in downtown San Diego. More than 70 tech startups are present in downtown San Diego, and the region has seen more than 30 companies relocate to Downtown within the past 18 months. Feedback from the meeting will be taken back to the Downtown Partnership’s Tech Startup Committee, to formulate a comprehensive strategy focused on bringing businesses and talent to the urban core.

  7. New Downtown Clean & Safe Program Launches

    A new and enhanced Clean & Safe Program has been launched by the Downtown San Diego Partnership, which has garnered the support of nearly 85 percent of Downtown property owners. The program will provide additional beautification and homeless outreach services, as well as more safety and maintenance programs for another decade.
