The Downtown San Diego Partnership’s safety and maintenance Clean & Safe team worked 24/7 during Comic-Con International 2018 to ensure a safe and enjoyable event for visitors from across the globe. Their efforts were extraordinary, as they picked up 45,516 flyers, posters, and stickers; pulled 3,862 bags of trash; removed 33 tons of trash and cleaned graffiti 269 times among other duties.

The initiative proposes a forty-two-year increase to the City of San Diego's visitor tax and is forecasted to generate $3.78 billion to expand the San Diego Convention Center, $2.02 billion for homelessness services, and $604 million for street improvements.
