    The Port of San Diego Holiday Bowl Parade presented by Kaiser Permanente will take place on December 28, where hundreds of thousands of visitors are expected to attend in downtown San Diego. Around 24 giant balloons, three floats, 18 specialty units, and 12 marching bands will be part of the parade. The parade will start at the south side of the San Diego Convention Center, have a different route comparing to previous years, and end at Pacific Highway.

The event, presented by Gallagher, will take place throughout San Diego and Baja region.   3. Port of San Diego Considers Advancing Seaport San Diego Project to Environmental Review

    The Port of San Diego Board of Commissioners is set to hear updates about the Seaport San Diego project and proposal to redevelop Central Embarcadero. The board will consider authorizing the commencement of an environmental review as required by the California Environmental Quality Act. The 1HWY1 development team will refine its project, which features mixed-use spaces and public realm areas such as parks, hotels, event centers, blue tech innovation center, walkways, beaches, retail spaces, restaurants, commercial fishing facilities, and more. The proposed redevelopment area is between Manchester Grand Hyatt and USS Midway, not including The Fish Market and The Headquarters.

    The Port of San Diego is preparing for its busiest cruise season since 2010, with 140 cruises set to bring approximately 460,000 passengers. The cruise ships include long-term partners and new businesses such as Princess Cruises, Silversea Cruises, Celebrity Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line, and Disney Cruise Line. The San Diego port was recently named as the best cruise port in the world by Global Traveler Leisure Lifestyle Awards, and the terminals provide easy access to several tourist attractions and neighborhoods in the city.
