1. Organizer of Armed Jewelry Store Robbery Sentenced To 96 Months In Prison

    A street gang member who was involved in an armed robbery of Alpha and Omega Jewelry Store has been sentenced to 96 months in prison. Trenelle Cannon, who pleaded guilty to one count of Conspiracy to Interfere with Commerce by Robbery in April admitted to have a leading and organizing role in the robbery, including providing the gun used and actively working to sell the stolen merchandise afterwards. Cannon, a member of the O'Farrell Park Criminal Street Gang, along with other individuals agreed to rob the store at gunpoint.

  5. Victims of BitConnect Scheme to Receive More Than $17 Million to Compensate For Losses

    A federal judge has ordered Glenn Arcaro, the top US-based promoter for BitConnect, to pay $17,646,801 in restitution to compensate approximately 800 victims from over 40 countries. Arcaro, along with other accomplices, misled investors about BitConnect's proprietary coin offering and digital currency exchange, known as the BitConnect Lending Program, using funds to operate a Ponzi scheme. Arcaro was sentenced in September of 2022 to 38 months in prison for his crimes. Satish Kumbhani, the founder of BitConnect, is currently a fugitive from justice.
