The Padres announced today their 2023 regular season broadcast schedule. All regular season Padres games will be televised in English on either Bally Sports San Diego, AppleTV+, ESPN, FS1, FOX Sports or TBS. The games produced by Bally Sports San Diego will also be available for live, authenticated streaming on the Bally Sports app and on BallySports.com. The minimum of 72 regular season games will also be available on a Bally Sports Spanish-language broadcast. All 162 regular season games will be broadcast live on the radio in both English and Spanish on 97.3 The Fan and XEMO-AM La Poderosa 860, respectively.
The regular season coverage on Bally Sports San Diego includes 155 games and begins Thursday, March 30, with Major League Baseball’s Opening Day, where the Padres will play against the Colorado Rockies at Petco Park. Coverage will start at 12:00 p.m. PT with a special Padres Live one-hour pregame show leading into the game, and it will conclude with a 30-minute Padres Live postgame show. Bally Sports San Diego is widely available on AT&T U-verse, COX, Charter Spectrum, DirecTV, and Mediacom. Fans interested in a streaming provider, are encouraged to source DirecTV Stream, and Fubo.
Don Orsillo will return for the 2023 season, handling the television play-by-play duties. He will be joined by former Padres pitcher Mark Grant, returning in the role of analyst, along with Tony Gwynn Jr. and Mark Sweeney for select games, while Bob Scanlan will report from the sideline. The network will continue to deliver Padres Live pregame and postgame coverage, providing fans with unmatched access to the team with interviews, original features, and more. Pomeranz and Sweeney will again deliver expert analysis all season long.
For the Spanish TV coverage during the 2023 season, the Bally Sports Spanish-language broadcast will offer a minimum of 72 home games. It will feature Spanish-language voice of the Padres, Eduardo Ortega, along with former Padres catcher, Carlos Hernandez. Spanish-language telecasts of Bally Sports will be available throughout San Diego on COX.
All 162 regular season Padres games will air live on radio in both English and Spanish in 2023. English broadcasts with Jesse Agler and Tony Gwynn Jr. can be found on 97.3 The Fan and streamed on the Audacy app in San Diego. Padres Radio Network has also expanded its reach to several cities outside of San Diego, including Temecula, California (KXFG 92.9), Palm Springs, California (KKGX 920 AM & 99.1 FM), and Las Vegas, Nevada (98.5 HD2 The Fan). The Fan will be home to one-hour pre and postgame shows in 2023. Sam Levitt, entering his second season covering the Padres, returns as the host of the pre and postgame shows.
Spanish radio broadcasts featuring Eduardo Ortega, Carlos Hernandez, and Pedro Gutiérrez can be found on the Padres’ Spanish flagship station, XEMO-AM La Poderosa 860.
Padres programming airing on Bally Sports San Diego will also stream live on the Bally Sports app and on ballysports.com when a consumer authenticates through their pay-tv service. The Bally Sports app will be available on mobile and tablet devices, including iOS and Android, as well as connected devices including Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, Apple TV, DIRECTV Stream, Google Chromecast, PlayStation, Roku Players, and Roku TV, Samsung, and LG platforms and Xbox One. Fans can download the app for free from the iTunes App Store, Google Play, Amazon App Store, Roku App Store, XBOX One App Store, and Windows App Store.
The Padres will also be featured on several national broadcasts beginning with their return to AppleTV+. They will travel to Atlanta to face the Braves on April 7, followed by ESPN’s Sunday Night Baseball on April 9 also at Atlanta. One additional ESPN Sunday Night Baseball is slated for Sunday, May 7, against the Los Angeles Dodgers from Petco Park. Continuing MLB’s partnership with AppleTV+, fans can also stream the Friday, May 26 game as the Padres take on the New York Yankees on AppleTV+ as part of “Friday Night Baseball.” The Padres will also be featured on Peacock on Sunday July 23 at Detroit. Rounding out the network exclusive games, the Padres will appear on FOX Sports’ Saturday Game of the Week on May 13 when they visit the Dodgers, and on June 17 when the Tampa Bay Rays visit Petco Park. Additionally, three games will be broadcast nationally on ESPN Radio on April 8 and 9 when the Padres visit the Braves and May 7 vs the Dodgers.
