The Padres have announced plans for the upcoming 2023 Opening Series presented by Sycuan Casino Resort against the Colorado Rockies.

The Opening Day pregame ceremony, featuring pitcher Blake Snell taking the mound, will feature all the fanfare of opening day including the unfurling of the American flag, a national anthem performance by saxophonist Jason Brown, and a MH-60S helicopter flyover by Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron EIGHT FIVE. Jake Peavy, a 2007 National League Cy Young Award winner, will also be inducted into the Padres Hall of Fame and will throw the game's ceremonial first pitch.

All gates to Petco Park will open at 11:00 a.m. for Opening Day, with fans advised to arrive at the park no later than 12:30 p.m. to enjoy the pregame festivities. Those holding tickets for the remaining Opening Series games are also encouraged to enter the ballpark early and pre-purchase parking. Limited tickets remain for the Padres Opening Day and the remaining Opening Series games.

Fans should note that standard Petco Park security procedures will be in place for every game, including walk-through metal detectors and the screening of bags by security staff. Backpacks and large purses will not be allowed, with the exception of single-compartment bags measuring 7” x 10” or smaller, drawstring bags, fanny packs, plastic grocery bags, and infant and medical bags. Fans are encouraged to check the Padres website for a detailed list of allowed and prohibited items.

For those taking public transportation to Petco Park, the San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) will be offering all three Trolley Lines – the Sycuan Green Line, the UC San Diego Blue Line, and the Orange Line – for fans, with direct service to Petco Park and increased service following the game. The North County Transit District (NCTD) will also offer Coaster service.

The second game of the Opening Series on April 7th will feature a BeerFest presented by Southwest Airlines in Gallagher Square with $5 beer specials from local and national partners. The game will also see Frankie J performing the National Anthem and Two-Time UFC Flyweight Champion, Brandon Moreno, throw the game's ceremonial first pitch. On Saturday, the new Padres House Band will be performing on the Sycuan Stage at Gallagher Square for the pregame, playing a variety of rock, oldies, pop and country music.

Sunday will be Military Opening Day presented by USAA, with pregame ceremonies featuring representatives from each branch of the armed services, the Starting Nine military taking the field, and a performance by the U.S. Navy parachute team Leap Frogs. KidsFest presented by SDG&E will also be held, featuring bounce houses, games, a face painter, and balloon artists. After the game, kids 14 and under are invited to run the bases.

The Padres will continue their opening homestand with a two-game series against the Arizona Diamondbacks on April 3-4, with a Salute to First Responders on Tuesday's April 4th game. Fans can purchase digital tickets on the Padres website or the MLB Ballpark app for home games.
