The FBI Ten Most Wanted Fugitive Michael James Pratt has been arrested in Spain earlier this week by Spanish authorities, according to the FBI San Diego Field Office. Pratt had been named to the FBI's Ten Most Wanted Fugitives List earlier this year and was charged with 19 counts relating to his involvement in the operation of the adult website, GirlsDoPorn. The indictment included charges such as sex trafficking, production of child pornography, sex trafficking of a minor, and conspiracy to launder monetary instruments.
The arrest was made in Madrid, Spain, on December 21, 2022, by the Spanish National Police, who acted on an Interpol Red Notice. Pratt is currently being held in Spain and awaiting extradition to the United States.
Stacey Moy, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI San Diego Field Office, praised the capture and remarked that it demonstrated how the FBI is committed to bringing criminals to justice, even beyond US borders. SAC Moy thanked the various law enforcement agencies involved in the arrest, including the Spanish National Police, the U.S. Marshals Service, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
The arrest of Pratt was a major milestone in the FBI's Ten Most Wanted Fugitives List, which was established in 1950, and Pratt was the 529th person to be placed on the list. For those needing additional information, Pratt's wanted poster and more information about the FBI's Ten Most Wanted Fugitives program can be found on the FBI's website at fbi.gov/topten.
The FBI reminds the public that an indictment or a complaint is only an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
