San Diego Bay Parade of Lights to take place on December 11 and 18

The San Diego Bay Parade of Lights returns for the 52nd year to brighten up the nights of December 11 and 18. This year, as many as 80 boats will be participating, each decked out in lights and festive decorations. Taking place under the theme 'FantaSEA,' the parade will start at Shelter Island at 5:30 p.m. on both evenings and proceed through Harbor Island, the North and South Embarcadero areas, Cesar Chavez Park Pier, with the procession coming to a close at the Ferry Landing in Coronado, approximately two hours later. Attendees can enjoy free bleacher seats, a shimmering selfie spot, and food and beverages for purchase provided by the Port on Broadway Pier on December 11th. Free hot cocoa, coffee, and cookies will be available on both parade dates at Cesar Chavez Pier, located in Barrio Logan's Cesar Chavez Park. There are various places to watch the parade, including the North Embarcadero, Seaport Village, Embarcadero Marina Parks North and South, the Coronado Ferry Landing, Spanish Landing, Cesar Chavez Park, Harbor Island and Shelter Island. Please prepare ahead of time and be aware of parking and traffic congestion. The possession of open alcohol beverages and drones are prohibited on the parade viewing area. This year's parade is sponsored by the Port of San Diego, Royal Caribbean Cruises, Bali Hai Restaurant, USS Midway Museum, Marine Group Boat Works, Maritime Museum of San Diego and others.
