The Chula Vista Police Department, along with the San Diego County District Attorney's office, held a joint press conference on Tuesday afternoon to announce the arrest of Larry Millete in the murder of his wife, May Millete. The investigation into May's disappearance has been ongoing since she went missing on January 11, 2021. May's disappearance sparked a multi-agency working group, which included the FBI and NCIS, in addition to the Chula Vista Police and San Diego County District Attorney's office.
The investigation included numerous search warrants, interviews, and tips followed up by detectives. Over the course of the investigation, 87 individuals were interviewed, and 67 search warrants were executed. The Chula Vista Police have reviewed over 130 tips on May's possible location and the reason for her disappearance.
On July 22, 2021, May's husband, Larry Millete, was named a person of interest in the case. The investigators continued to consider him as a person of interest in May's disappearance. On Tuesday afternoon, the Chula Vista Police announced the arrest of Larry Millete for the murder of his wife.
The joint press conference held on Tuesday afternoon was intended to provide an update on the investigation and the arrest of Larry Millete.
