Chula Vista Police Department has issued a statement on the disappearance of May 'Maya' Millete, who has been missing for almost three months. In the statement released by Chief of Police, Roxana Kennedy, the department reassures May's family and the community that finding her and bringing her home safely remains their top priority.
The department has been actively and continuously investigating May's disappearance, conducting searches, follow-ups, and following every tip or lead received. They have also been working closely with their regional partners, including the FBI and San Diego County District Attorney's Office, to analy ze evidence.
Despite their efforts, the family and community remain frustrated with the lack of answers. The department stresses the importance of sharing any information about May's disappearance directly with them rather than on social media or through media outlets, which can lead to misinformation and complicate the investigation.
Chief Kennedy thanked those who have contacted their detectives with information and tips, as cases like this can hinge on the smallest piece of information that could lead to a break in the investigation. Due to the sensitivity of the case, the department will not share details and compromise the investigation.
Anyone with information on the incident is asked to please contact San Diego County Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477 or the Chula Vista Police Department at 619-691-5151. Media inquiries can be directed to PIO Lt. Dan Peak at 619-585-5670.
