The Downtown San Diego Partnership announced the kickoff of their annual 'Sounds of Summer' pop-up concerts series, which will feature numerous local musicians at various locations throughout Downtown on Friday afternoons. Presented by THE US GRANT, the Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation, Gig Town, and Pacific Records, the free concert series will begin on June 26th.

Last year, the Downtown San Diego Partnership launched the 'Sounds of Summer' pop-up concert series in their larger initiative to INVIGORATE Downtown San Diego with a multitude of cultural happenings and activities, and it was a tremendous success. The partnership is hoping for another successful run this summer.

The kickoff event for this year's concert series will offer performances at THE US GRANT and Horton Plaza locations, and will feature Joe Cardillo and the 22 Kings. THE US GRANT's general manager, Douglas Korn, stated that partnering with 'Sounds of Summer' for the second consecutive year was exciting, and believes the program activates the streets of Downtown and fosters support for local arts and culture.

The Downtown San Diego Partnership is a non-profit, member-based organization advocating for the revitalization and economic health of Downtown San Diego.
