The Downtown San Diego Partnership and U.S. Bank have collaborated to launch a four-month-long summer wellness series aimed towards promoting physical and financial fitness in Downtown San Diego. The program, starting from June 11, includes various activities such as Pilates, swing dance classes, and financial fitness courses. All activities are free and sponsored by U.S Bank.
“We not only aim at providing endless opportunities for entertainment and fun, but also for learning,” said Kris Michell, President and CEO of the Downtown San Diego Partnership. “This summer we are thrilled to work with U.S. Bank to provide educational opportunities and family-friendly events to add to the list of activities to do in our Downtown.”
Steve Stuckey, President of U.S. Bank in San Diego, implied that the summer wellness series is designed to encourage people to learn basic financial principles and to stay healthy. “U.S. Bank is pleased to be a sponsor of the Kettner Summer Series in San Diego, partnering with the Downtown San Diego Partnership to make San Diego's Downtown neighborhood and community healthier and smarter,” he said.
The various activities include:
Swing into Summer: Swing Dancing San Diego teaches aerobic swing dance classes once a month on Thursdays from June to September on Broadway Pier.
Pilates in the Park: Broadway Athletic and Swim Club leads free Pilates classes every month at Lane Field.
Financial Fitness: Monthly hour-long courses to educate people on how to manage their financial future will be hosted by U.S. Bank, starting with “Home Mortgage: State of the Market” on July 17th at their downtown branch.
Summer Fun and Sweepstakes: U.S. Bank invites customers and visitors to attend family-friendly and free outdoor painting classes and Padres viewing parties. Attendees will have a chance to win various Downtown Experience prizes such as a private tour of Balboa Tower or a child's birthday party at Petco Park with 10 friends, including 10 ice cream helmets and a birthday message on the scoreboard.
The series will kick off from 5:30 pm onwards on June 11th at the Downtown Branch of U.S. Bank. The event will provide giveaways, food trucks with healthy options, and a free Pilates on the patio class.
